Lancs.
This week I've been listening a lot to something from 2015 by The Lancashire Hustlers, a London-based duo whose album What Made Him Run I received eleven years ago for review. I'd completely forgotten how good this is: pop music with very strong melodies. A distinct hint of Crowded House. A couple of days ago I read the sticker on the back of the plastic pocket, and it said, volume two of a trilogy of albums. There was one copy each of the first and third installments on eBay, so I bought them. Woo hoo!
And they're on Bandcamp, so check ‘em out…
I also listened to Out There by The Heliocentrics - like a dubby, spacey, bonkers jazz-Orb. Great stuff, especially for driving in the car. Got it for a couple of quid somewhere, so I am pleased!
I've also been listening to 1980s Genesis for the current book I'm writing. ABACAB… a bit meh, but Genesis two years later… fantastic!
